Keep. It. Simple. Stupid. (Kopitar. Is. So. Smart)

Keep. It. Simple. Stupid.  (Kopitar. Is. So. Smart.)

This week's video showcases the simple brilliance of Anze Kopitar of the LA Kings in last night's win over the Winnipeg Jets.  Kopitar tallied 4 goals for the Kings who battled back from two separate 2-goal deficits in the game to finish off the win in the shootout and gain 2 critical points in the Western Conference playoff race.  Kopitar is a great example of a player that doesn't necessarily have all of the flash and dash in his game, especially at this stage of his career, but his hockey IQ and mastery of the game's simple details continue to produce consistent results.

He scores 4 times by executing simple plays with simple skills.  His first goal is from a faceoff win and a one-timer.  His next 2 goals are a result of getting to the net and getting a stick on the puck for deflections, and his last goal is scored by taking advantage of a good bounce off the linesman and stepping into a slapshot.  Nothing crazy...just executing his responsibilities and finishing with simple skills.

KEEP IT SIMPLE, STUPID!
